Dax Atkinson
Managing Partner
As our Managing Partner, Dax Atkinson leads our team with a strategic vision and a wealth of experience. His background in private equity investing, investment banking and financial leadership positions him as a key asset in providing valuable financial advisory services.

Prior to forming Haymaker, Dax was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer of a Texas-based family office, where he managed the financial affairs of the business and oversaw strategic investments in mining, energy and technology.
​
Before joining the family office, Dax was a Managing Director at Castlelake LP, where he played a key role in managing the firm's energy portfolio. Earlier in his career, Dax worked at CarVal Investors LP, where he focused on sourcing and managing investments across energy, shipping and various other industries.

Additionally, Dax gained significant expertise in distressed investing while working at Deephaven Capital Management and has held various board positions.
